We are a rapidly growing US billing operation with a specialty in Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Pain Management private practice across the United States. Our company is growing rapidly and our North America office is in South Carolina. Our mission is to streamline billing processes, maximize revenue, ensure timely reimbursements, smooth financial operations for medical professionals, and improve overall operational efficiency. Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Sage Healthy Global Pvt Ltd. located in Chennai, India. As a Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our organization by overseeing various financial activities, including monthly payroll processing for India employees, monthly accounting, and the maintenance of accounting software (Tally). Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting HQ accounting operations in the USA.

Responsibilities:

1. Monthly Payroll Processing

  • Setting up of payroll master.
  • Support on preparation of salary structure of the employees.
  • Monthly payroll processing and preparing salary sheet.
  • Generation of monthly pay slips.
  • Employee tax computation based on the declarations provided.
  • Issuing employee tax withholding certificate Form 16.
  • Responding to employee queries on various payroll matter.

2. Monthly Accounting & Bookkeeping:

  • Setting up initial chart of accounts.
  • Bank and cash entries.
  • Month end accruals and closure of books.
  • AR and AP entries.
  • Generation of sales invoice.
  • Fixed assets and depreciation accounting.
  • Expenditure booking ensuring compliances with respect to TDS and GST.
  • Monthly Reconciliations.
  • Filing and maintenance of books and records as per the legal requirements.
  • Running monthly payroll.
  • Providing monthly reporting for consolidation in US books.

3. Maintenance of Accounting Software (Tally):

  • Administer and maintain the company's accounting software to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within the software, including invoice processing and vendor payments.

4. Coordination with HQ Accounting in the USA:

  • Collaborate with the headquarters' finance team in the USA to provide support and ensure alignment with global financial standards.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for HQ, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

5. Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Goods and Service Tax (GST) Filing monthly.
  • Tax withholding return (TDS) Filing quarterly TDS return on the vendor payments as well as on the employee salary Generating tax deductions certificate Form 16A for vendors.
  • Profession tax (PT) Filing monthly and annual PT returns.
  • Provident fund (PF) Generating new PF numbers for the employees joining the organization Calculations of monthly PF from employees salary Assisting in payment and filing of PF returns Maintaining other records and register as required under the PF Act.
  • Employee State Insurance (ESI) Generating new ESI numbers for the employees joining the organization Calculations of monthly ESI from employees salary Assisting in payment and filing of ESI returns Maintaining other records and register as required under the ESI Act.

6. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and automation within the finance and accounting functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in finance accounting and preferably worked in Charted Accounting firm.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for documentation, reporting, and project management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting or finance, including supervisory or managerial roles, preferable experience with CA Firms.
  • Experience in Accounting Software: Proficiency with financial accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is often essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and management skills to oversee the accounting department, guide a team, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Financial and Accounting Knowledge: A deep understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, budgeting, taxation, and financial analysis.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations based on the data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying financial information to executives, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and address financial challenges and find innovative solutions is crucial.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis is paramount.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and accounting software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Industry-specific knowledge may be required, depending on the nature of the business.
  • Soft Skills: Adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation:

  • Payment is made monthly on the last working day of each month. This role includes annual vacation and an allotment for Personal Time Off (PTO). Salary is commensurate with experience and performance.
