The successful appointment will be an accomplished private or growth equity investment partner who can direct the further deployment and development of our Asia focused investment funds, as we'll as prepare, deploy, and manage the to-be-formed subsequent Asia Fund II, anticipated to launch in 2025.
The South Asia (SA) Investment Partner will be responsible for guiding high-quality deal flow, performing due diligence, completing investments, and managing her portfolio to support the effective growth of companies and eventual exits.
The Investment Partner will also supervise investment professionals in SA, work alongside other investment partners in the region, and create synergies with the Circulate Capital teams in Southeast Asia and LATAM.
This is a full-time position based in India (preferred) or potentially in Singapore with travel required for the effective execution of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and development of investment opportunities for the funds
Directing due diligence, negotiations, and closing for investments
Working regularly with portfolio company management teams to guide the growth of their business in achieving both financial and impact targets, serving as Board member
Managing the investment team through solid behavior modeling, coaching, and mentoring to achieve the above and to further develop team members
Coordinate with the Impact and ESG team to ensure targets are set, achieved, and reported
Contribute to LP engagement, fundraising, and PR/Comms strategy as needed
Suggest improvements to our approach, process, products, and services
Be a great partner for the fund, our sister funds, and colleagues around the world
Key Competencies
At least 15 years of growth capital or private equity investment experience (Series B/C) with at least 8 years of experience working in SA; preference for sector experience in waste and recycling or similar sectors such as manufacturing or supply chain
Proven interest in solving complex environmental issues
Strong investment track record; preference for solid history and experience through a full fund lifecycle
Proven ability to support and guide management teams in building their businesses, implementing systems, processes, and governance at an international level
Expertise in deal structuring, due diligence, and closing processes
Proven ability to coach and develop team members to their potential
A significant network of peers and related ecosystem stakeholders in the region
Preference for person with fundraising skills including effective management of fundraising pipeline and working with development finance institutions, FOs and institutional investors
Adept at coaching and engaging with remote, multicultural teams using collaboration tools, such as Google Suite, and CRMs
