About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Specialist with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting skills, hands-on experience with networking (including internet, firewalls, and IT tools), and expertise in implementing security best practices. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud) is a big plus.

Scripting & Automation:

Develop and maintain scripts for automating IT processes (using Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
Improve system efficiency through automation of repetitive tasks and workflows

Networking:

Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot network components including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
Configure and maintain network security protocols such as firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
Ensure reliable internet connectivity and internal network performance

Security Best Practices & Implementation:

Implement and maintain industry-standard security best practices across all systems and networks
Develop and enforce security policies, such as password management, data encryption, and access controls
Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
Proactively monitor systems for potential security breaches and respond to incidents promptly
Collaborate with the team to develop and execute security protocols and incident response plans

IT Tools & Support:

Administer and maintain IT tools for system monitoring, ticketing, and team collaboration
Provide technical support, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for internal teams

Ideal candidate

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in IT support, networking, or a related role

Skills:

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching)
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and other network security technologies
Proven ability to implement and enforce security best practices and policies
Familiarity with IT tools such as monitoring software, ticketing systems, and version control
Knowledge of security frameworks and ability to perform regular security assessments and audits

Cloud Experience (Preferred):

Experience with Google Cloud platforms is a big plus

Education:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, especially in security-relate challenges
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
