Manager - Finance and Accounting

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager Finance and Accounting will be responsible for supporting the finance team in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and optimizing the company's financial health. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support business growth.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Accounting Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and posting to the general ledger.
• Cash Flow Management: Assist in monitoring cash flow, managing working capital, and ensuring the availability of funds for operational needs.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the preparation and management of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of taxes, including GST, TDS, and other statutory taxes, and coordinate with tax consultants.
• Audit Coordination: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, provide insights into financial performance, and suggest areas for improvement to senior management.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Work with vendors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Process Improvement: Continuously review and suggest improvements to accounting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

WHO YOU ARE

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a fast-paced D2C or e-commerce environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks) and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Adaptable: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications such as CA (Inter), CMA, or CPA are a plus.
• Proven experience in handling accounts, financial reporting, and compliance in a growing business environment.
• Strong understanding of Indian accounting principles, taxation, and legal requirements.
• Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other relevant statutory requirements.
• Experience in handling audits, both internal and external, with the ability to manage documentation and queries efficiently.
