Finance Manager

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing team. In

this role, you will be a key player in overseeing the financial health of the company. You will be

responsible for all aspects of financial management, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting,

accounting, controls, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial modelling, and contract management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Reporting and Analysis
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including investors and lenders.
• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Develop and manage the annual budget process.
• Prepare and update financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and identify areas for improvement.
• Accounting and Controls
• Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Tax Compliance
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, collaborating effectively with Australian tax professionals to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Stay abreast of Australian tax laws and regulations, proactively seeking expert advice and guidance as needed.
• Contract Management
• Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure contracts are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor contract performance and identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Maintain a contract database and track key contract milestones.
• Revenue Recognition
• Manage revenue recognition related to subscription revenue, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).
• Perform reconciliations of subscription revenue data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the business development team to understand sales contracts and ensure accurate revenue forecasting.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure alignment between CRM reports and financial reports, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in a finance management role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with subscription-based revenue models and ASC 606 is a plus.
