Job Description
RVR Engineering is currently seeking Senior PV Design Engineer to design and develop Power Engineering scope for Substation, Medium and High Voltage projects. Expected to work with Utility Substations, Transmission Lines, Solar and Wind Generation Facilities, Energy Storage, etc
What you ll do:
Shall be able to prepare/guide the design team to be able to prepare the SLD, general arrangement drawings, electrical layout, sections, EKD, DSLP, Earthing Layout, cable trench layout, switch yard, cable schedule, bill of materials (BOMs) etc.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create plans for solar energy system for Residential and Commercial
- Preparation of equipment specification, layout drawings and calculations (Short circuit force, Earthing, Direct lightning stroke protection, Conductor sizing, CT / CVT sizing, battery sizing etc.), sizing for the equipment designs and systems BOQ preparation
- Detailed electrical design of substation including all logic diagrams, single/three lines diagrams, protection and controls schematics and connection wiring diagrams. Carrying out HV/ EHV substation design and drawings for both AIS and GIS substations
- Should be able to independently Prepare and Review design, layout and drawings, capacity SLD, Array layout, GA Drawing
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for drawings and other project documents
- Communicate clearly with co-workers in office to ensure high quality solar designs
- Draft and design commercial, industrial and utility solar PV systems using AutoCAD and delivering complete design packages for construction and installation
- Prepare conceptual design for solar rooftop, carport, ground mount systems (fixed tilt and single-axis tracking) and electric vehicle charging stations including site plans, equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, string sizing, schedule, bill of quantity, etc.
Must Haves:
- Must have completed Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Hands on design experience for multiple projects in substation design. EHV substation designs, Switchyard layouts, Switchyard equipment designs experience is must
- Knowledge of standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and/or equivalent NEC standards
- Should have knowledge of Transmission Lines
- Strong in AutoCAD and or other cad-based software platform
- Attention-to-detail and excellent organisation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Time management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic environment
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and resolve issues independently based on project/company standards
Great to Have :
- Good exposure & knowledge in NEC & IBC codes
- Knowledge of Software like ETAP, CDEGs etc. will be preferable
- Working knowledge in MS office
