Job Profile: Packaging Materials Executive
Job Summary:
The Packaging Materials & Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement,
documentation, and coordination of packaging materials while ensuring compliance with quality standards and
timelines. This role involves managing vendor relationships, and ensuring efficient communication across teams to
support seamless packaging operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shade and Artwork Management
• Minimize shade variations in packaging materials.
• Ensure shade proofs are consistently available from all vendors.
• Maintain and regularly update the artwork availability tracker.
2. Documentation and Record Management
• Maintain comprehensive records of packaging materials, including quotations and approvals.
• Ensure all specifications, artworks, and vendor approvals are accessible on the intranet portal.
3. Process Compliance and Timeliness
• Open new material/ vendor codes.
• Ensure timely updates of specifications.
• Generate purchase orders (POs).
4. Inventory and Lead Time Management
• Ensure the availability of packaging materials as per lead time requirements.
5. Vendor Coordination and Payment
• Act as the primary liaison between the organization and vendors.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution.
• Process vendor payments within the agreed due dates.
6. Periodic Reviews and Cost Optimization
• Conduct bi-annual reviews to short-close pending POs/PRs.
• Drive new developments and identify cost-saving opportunities in packaging materials.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Educational Background: PGDP from IIP, materials management, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years in packaging material procurement and vendor management.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office tools.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong organizational and documentation skills.
o Excellent communication and vendor management abilities.
o Problem-solving and process optimization mindset.
