The Electrician Cum Plumber is a versatile maintenance professional responsible for performing both electrical and plumbing tasks in the organization. This dual-role requires expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and plumbing systems. The individual will be required to work on a variety of projects, from routine maintenance to emergency repairs, ensuring the proper functioning of electrical and plumbing systems within the organization. Key Responsibilities: 1. Electrical Maintenance and Repairs
Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures in compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot electrical faults and issues in equipment, wiring, and lighting. Perform electrical inspections to ensure systems are functioning efficiently and are up to code. Install electrical panels, outlets, switches, and lighting systems, ensuring proper wiring and grounding. Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including circuit breakers, wiring, and appliances. Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime of electrical systems and avoid potential failures.
2. Plumbing Maintenance and Repairs
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and water heaters. Troubleshoot and repair leaks, blockages, and other plumbing issues in drains, water systems, and sewage systems. Install and maintain plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters. Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to ensure they are in good working condition and compliant with codes. Unclog drains and perform maintenance on plumbing lines to prevent future issues. Respond to emergency plumbing issues, including leaks or burst pipes, in a timely manner.
3. Preventive Maintenance
Conduct regular checks and preventative maintenance on both electrical and plumbing systems to prevent failures or costly repairs. Perform diagnostic assessments on both systems and make recommendations for upgrades or repairs to ensure longevity. Replace or repair worn-out parts to ensure efficiency and minimize risks.
4. Installation and Upgrades
Assist with the installation of new electrical and plumbing systems or upgrades to existing infrastructure. Follow safety protocols and regulations while carrying out installations and upgrades to ensure safety and compliance. Work with other team members and departments to complete installation projects.
5. Safety and Compliance
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for both electrical and plumbing tasks. Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national safety regulations and industry standards. Safely handle tools and equipment used for electrical and plumbing work. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and dispose of waste materials in an environmentally friendly manner.
6. Troubleshooting and Emergency Response
Respond to emergency maintenance requests for both electrical and plumbing issues promptly and efficiently. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and plumbing issues using problem-solving skills and expertise. Maintain emergency equipment, such as generators, sump pumps, or backup electrical systems, ensuring they are fully functional.
7. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities. Document the condition of electrical and plumbing systems, including any repairs or replacements made. Report any safety concerns or non-compliance issues to the Maintenance Manager or supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or diplomas in Electrical or Plumbing preferred). Proven experience (3+ years) in both electrical and plumbing maintenance, repair, and installation. Certification or licensure in both electrical and plumbing fields is highly desirable (depending on local regulations). Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations for electrical and plumbing systems.
