Mechanical Engineering Technician

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

We seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer Maintenance to oversee and ensure the efficient operation of machines, utilities, and plant maintenance in our jewellery manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate should have 5-6 years of experience in handling compressors, DG sets, ETP/STP plants, and primarily chiller plant operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for compressors, diesel generators (DG), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), and chiller plants.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns in production machines and utility systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain records of machine maintenance, breakdowns, and servicing schedules.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in plant operations.
• Train and supervise junior technicians in maintenance procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance Engineering.
• 5-6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the jewellery manufacturing or metal processing industry.
• Expertise in operating and maintaining chiller plants, compressors, DG sets, and treatment plants (ETP/STP).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety standards and industrial maintenance best practices.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:.

• Knowledge of PLC-based machinery maintenance.
• Certification in industrial safety or maintenance management is a plus.
