Job Overview:
We are looking for an energetic go-getter who has a minimum of 6 years of experience in Product design & development (mechanical & electro-mechanical products) for the automotive industry. This position requires the candidate to lead a small team, that can propose & analyze design requirements, and when necessary provide solutions to design related problems both at development and production stage.
Education:
Minimum Requirement: B-Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred : M-Tech/M.E. in Mechanical Engineering
Skills:
Soft skills, Analytical thinking, Critical thinking, Multitasking & Flexibility
Compliance : APQP process, IATF 16949, applicable automotive standards.
Tools/Equipment: SolidWorks, AutoCad, ANSYS*.
Language : English - Professional ability to read, write & fluently speak.
Professional Experience & Duties (required but not limited to the following):
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D modeling within a product development environment.
- Ability to apply engineering analysis, creative problem solving, attention to detail, and diligence
in finding the best solution for each design challenge.
- Strong analytical/decision-making skills to trade-off between concepts.
- Experience leading an FMEA assessment to successful completion with associated risk
reduced to an acceptable level and driving Design Verification and Plan Report (DVPR).
- Hands-on experience in Sheet metal and Plastic Designing. Strong experience in statistical
tolerance stack up techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, ASME
Standards.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary fabrication teams to build and assemble prototypes.
- Experience with simulation and modelling tools for both 2D and 3D applications.
- Experience and passion for hands-on prototyping. Experience working in a highly collaborative
team environment and self-motivated to identify and resolve design issues.
- A solid history of solving complex problems while being able to work collaboratively while
handling multiple projects on various timelines - this includes working with junior engineers to
help them complete their projects.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to articulate design performance and
independently drive people/groups for design, schedule, and quality.
