Internal Auditor

Role & responsibilities

• Understanding and acquiring in-depth knowledge of a Company's business and system of accounting and assisting in creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assess the adequacy and relevance of internal control systems, policies and procedures.
• Identify and assess areas of significant business risk on the extent of compliance.
• Developing process flow diagrams, process narratives and risk control matrices (RCM) to ascertain a remediation plan for identified design gaps;
• Perform auditing procedures like tests of controls, analytical review, tests of details, reconciliations, reasonability tests etc.
• Identify and reduce all business and financial risks through effective implementation and monitoring of controls
• Review of the accounting entries for the respective period and reporting the same to the Company's management.
• Assisting in drafting of reports and management presentations pertaining to all the above.
• Extensive travelling to West Africa.

Preferred candidate profile

• CA Inter / B. Com Graduate
• 3-6 years of experience in internal auditing or related financial roles.
• Understanding of auditing financial services industry (FSI sector), Fintech sector and manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in modern risk-based internal audit methodologies.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate amongst team members.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge of African regulatory environments, AML laws.
