Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering Leadership: Provide expert guidance in the engineering development of automotive exterior systems, including material selection, structural analysis, and production feasibility.
• Industry Trends & Benchmarking: Stay updated on market trends, competitor technologies, and emerging innovations to drive exterior engineering excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and regulatory teams to ensure robust and efficient exterior development.
• CAD & Simulation: Oversee the development of detailed 3D CAD models and engineering simulations using software such as CATIA, NX, or other industry-standard tools.
• Material & Manufacturing Expertise: Provide insights on material properties, surface treatments, joining techniques, and cost-effective manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, and composites.
• Structural Integrity & Compliance: Ensure exterior components meet crashworthiness, durability, NVH, and safety regulations.
• Aerodynamics & Thermal Management: Optimize exterior surfaces for aerodynamic performance and thermal efficiency.
• Mentorship & Training: Support and mentor engineers in best practices for automotive exterior development.
• Engineering Reviews & Approvals: Participate in design and engineering validation reviews, prototype testing, and final production validation to ensure high-quality standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet global safety and regulatory standards such as FMVSS, ECE, AIS, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering

• Experience: Minimum of 8-12 years in automotive exterior engineering and development with a proven track record of successful vehicle programs.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CATIA, NX, or similar CAD software for engineering design and development.
• Experience / knowledge with FEA, CFD, and CAE tools for structural and aerodynamic analysis.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, material properties, and joining technologies
