Underwriter manager

Riskbirbal Insurance Broker Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Underwriter Manager to lead our underwriting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the insurance sector with expertise in risk assessment, policy evaluation, and team leadership. The role involves strategizing underwriting policies, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the efficiency of the underwriting process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the underwriting team to ensure efficient and accurate risk assessment.
• Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Evaluate and analyze insurance applications to determine coverage eligibility and premium rates.
• Ensure underwriting decisions align with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor industry trends and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to underwriters to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with sales and claims teams to improve the overall insurance process.
• Assess and manage high-value or complex insurance cases.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurers and reinsurers.
• Prepare underwriting reports and present risk assessments to senior management.
• Implement risk control measures to minimize potential losses for the company.
• Ensure compliance with IRDAI and other regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of underwriting experience in the insurance sector.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and risk assessment tools.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance products, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Only candidates with prior experience in the insurance sector will be considered.
• Experience in insurance broking firms will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with a proven track record in underwriting leadership roles preferred.
