Job Description for Tutor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

Position: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor

Department: Various Specializations (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Pharmacology)

Reporting To: Head of Department (HOD)

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching:
   
• Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) students.
• Develop and update course content, lesson plans, and study materials to meet curriculum requirements.
• Mentor students in academic projects, case studies, and research activities.
2. Research:
   
• Undertake research in the respective specialization and publish findings in reputable journals.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other institutions for interdisciplinary research.
• Guide postgraduate students in their thesis and research work.
3. Clinical Responsibilities (where applicable):
   
• Participate in clinical rounds and support clinical teaching in hospital settings.
• Supervise diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in respective departments.
4. Departmental Development:
   
• Assist in developing departmental policies and guidelines.
• Contribute to curriculum design and enhancement based on the latest advancements in the field.
• Organize and participate in workshops, CME programs, and academic conferences.
5. Administrative Duties:
   
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and accreditation processes.
• Contribute to student admissions, examinations, and other academic activities.
6. Community Outreach (for Community Medicine):
   
• Plan and execute community health programs and research projects.
• Train students in public health practices, epidemiology, and biostatistics.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: MD/MS in the respective specialization (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Pharmacology) from a recognized medical institution.
• Experience:
• Assistant Professor: As per MCI/NMC guidelines.
• Associate Professor: As per MCI/NMC guidelines.
• Additional Requirements: Publications in indexed journals as per MCI/NMC guidelines
