Job Title : General Manager SAP IT.
Department : Information Technology (IT).
Location : Okhla, Delhi.
Reports to : VP-IT.
Experience Level : 15+ years in IT management, with a focus on SAP implementation, optimization, and strategy.
Role Overview :
The General Manager SAP IT will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of SAP systems to ensure they effectively support the organization's business objectives.
This position is responsible for SAP architecture, project management, stakeholder collaboration, and the alignment of IT initiatives with enterprise goals.
The GM will lead a team of IT professionals and manage vendor relationships to drive innovation, optimize processes, and deliver robust SAP solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and implement an SAP strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives leveraging SAP technologies.
- Ensure scalability, efficiency, and innovation in SAP solutions across the enterprise.
- Advocate for SAP capabilities and influence strategic IT planning discussions.
Project & Program Management :
- Lead end-to-end SAP upgrades, and migrations (e., SAP S/4HANA).
- Oversee project planning, execution, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Manage risks, resolve issues, and adapt project plans to changing business needs.
Operational Excellence :
- Ensure the optimal performance, availability, and reliability of SAP systems.
- Oversee the integration of SAP modules across business units for seamless operations.
- Drive initiatives to improve SAP utilization and user experience.
- Establish robust frameworks for system backup, disaster recovery, and data security.
Team and Vendor Management :
- Build and lead a high-performing SAP team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Mentor and develop team members, ensuring skills align with evolving technologies.
- Manage relationships with SAP vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements for SAP-related solutions and support.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Partner with business leaders to identify technology requirements and deliver tailored SAP solutions.
- Communicate SAP-related strategies, updates, and results to the leadership team.
- Act as a bridge between IT and business functions, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
Compliance and Governance :
- Ensure SAP systems comply with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Implement governance processes for system changes, data management, and audits.
- Conduct regular system evaluations and recommend enhancements as needed.
Qualifications and Skills :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Certifications in SAP technologies (e., SAP HANA, FICO, MM) are highly desirable.
Experience :
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with a minimum of 8 years in SAP management or leadership roles.
- Extensive experience in SAP implementations, upgrades, and global rollouts.
- Proven expertise in SAP modules like FICO, MM, and integration technologies.
