Job Description
As a PrestaShop Developer, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining PrestaShop-based e-commerce websites. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and other developers, to create and optimize online shopping experiences for clients. Your expertise in PrestaShop development will be essential in ensuring the smooth functionality and performance of e-commerce platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customize and extend PrestaShop functionalities to meet client requirements.
- Develop and integrate custom modules and plugins.
- Ensure the security and scalability of PrestaShop installations.
- Create responsive and visually appealing front-end designs.
- Implement and optimize user interfaces for e-commerce websites.
- Ensure a seamless shopping experience for users across various devices and browsers.
- Manage and optimize database operations for e-commerce websites.
- Develop and maintain server-side scripts, APIs, and integrations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot server and website performance issues.
- Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings.
- Optimize website loading speed and performance for enhanced user experience.
- Integrate payment gateways, shipping options, and inventory management systems.
- Conduct thorough testing of website features, modules, and functionality.
- Identify and resolve bugs, issues, and compatibility problems.
- Perform code reviews and ensure code quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members.
- Document code, configurations, and development processes.
- Create user guides and training materials as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with PrestaShop updates, industry trends, and best practices.
- Suggest and implement improvements based on emerging technologies and trends.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a PrestaShop Developer or similar role.
- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce principles and practices.
- Familiarity with PrestaShop themes, modules, and plugins.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Any relevant certifications in web development or e-commerce platforms are a plus.
