Job Description

Position: AVP Credit (Fleet Loans)


Role Overview:


As the AVP Credit (Fleet Loans) at Revfin, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the credit strategy of the organization.

As AVP Credit for fleet loans, you will take ownership of design, implementation and monitoring of underwriting policy. You will be an expert of underwriting of business/fleet loans using financial statements, credit/banking transaction history, regulatory rules and other industry leading practices. You will also have flexibility to look at innovative and alternate methodologies to underwrite loans and mitigate risks. You will work in a lean team environment and your approach will be technology driven.

Ideally, you will have experience of underwriting loans for commercial vehicle fleets and have good knowledge of risks associated with electric vehicles. You should also have experience of underwriting loans for startups as most fleets will not have a very established track record.

Key Responsibilities:


Credit Strategy and Policy Development

  • Develop and own credit policy and performance for fleet loans and leases.
  • Develop, review, and implement comprehensive credit policies and strategies aligned to the organisational business goal and risk appetite.
  • Understand and implement various risk mitigation strategies, including creation of innovative and industry first practices.
  • Ensure alignment of credit policies with regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Assess and manage credit risk associated with lending activities, including evaluating borrower creditworthiness, collateral assessment, and industry risk analysis.
  • Implement risk management practices, risk analytics and models to optimize the balance between risk and reward.

Underwriting

  • Direct ownership of underwriting electric vehicle fleets on a case by case basis
  • Develop underwriting rules based on company financial analysis, regulatory rules, risk assessment
  • Develop, review, and update underwriting policies and guidelines in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure consistent yet customised application of underwriting standards across the organization for different kind of lending products.
  • Oversee the evaluation of applications to determine risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and implement risk assessment models, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

Portfolio Management and Regulatory Adherence

  • Monitor the overall health of the credit portfolio, identifying trends, and making strategic recommendations to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Implement strategies to address and mitigate portfolio risks.
  • Keep track of changes in financial regulations and ensure that credit operations of the organisation comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with the compliance team to address any regulatory issues promptly.

Process Optimization

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance credit application, approval, and monitoring processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Integrate technology solutions and automation to streamline credit operations.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and present regular reports on credit portfolio performance, delinquency rates, and other key credit metrics to investors.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in credit risk, underwriting, risk analytics with at least 3 years of experience in leading credit management function within an NBFC or financial institutions.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with hands on experience in risk modelling and data analysis
  • In depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirement in Indian financial sector
  • Familiarity with technology solutions and data analytics in credit decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
