Draughtsman

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to develop comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD drawings for rainwater harvesting systems and related projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to create accurate, sustainable, and efficient designs. You will be responsible for modifying existing designs, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and local codes, and preparing technical documentation to support the development and implementation of rainwater harvesting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Development:

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for rainwater harvesting systems, including all components such as gutters, downspouts, tanks, filtration systems, pumps, and distribution systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and translate them into precise designs that meet functional, aesthetic, and technical specifications.
• Modify and improve existing designs to enhance system efficiency, sustainability, and ease of installation.

Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure all designs comply with company standards, environmental regulations, and local building codes and regulations related to water harvesting and sustainability.
• Stay updated with industry trends and standards to incorporate best practices into design processes.

Technical Documentation:

• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design plans, elevations, sections, and detailed schematics.
• Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQs) based on designs for costing, project planning, and procurement.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with project teams and clients to gather design inputs, review requirements, and provide technical advice.
• Participate in site visits as required to collect relevant data, assess project conditions, and ensure designs align with on-site requirements.

Prototyping and Product Innovation:

• Assist in the development of prototypes and contribute to the creation of innovative products and design solutions.
• Prepare detailed drawings and documentation for product development and testing.

Project Support:

• Provide ongoing support during the construction and installation phases, ensuring that designs are implemented as per the plans.
• Address any design-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools).
• Strong knowledge of rainwater harvesting systems, sustainability practices, and environmental regulations.
• Experience with creating detailed drawings, technical schematics, and BOQs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot design issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with 3D modeling and visualization software.
• Knowledge of water conservation practices and sustainable design principles.
• Familiarity with local building codes and environmental standards related to rainwater harvesting.
