Job Responsibilities : Maximize net trading margin within the constraints of refinery and supply operations.
Responsible for contribution to the team's trading strategy and execute purchase and sales contracts of crude and feed stocks.
Responsible for the delivery of detailed analysis of the crude market by number crunching (historical), market talk, reports and team discussion and develop forward view.
Should lay emphasis on increased scrutiny on best execution.
Network with traders to gather market intelligence.
Keeping abreast about changing property of the crude and look out for new / difficult grades so as to leverage refinery configuration.
React to changes in the market place around information affecting crude prices / availability, to ensure supply reliability targets are met.
Coordination with Chartering, Operations, Planning and Refinery (SPC), BO, MO.
Ability to identify global arbitrage opportunities and coordinate with the hedging desk to ensure correct paper instruments are used to lock in value; Contango locking.
Development of new counterparties and new market.
Assist with the reporting of the crude inventory exposure through the analysis of commitment & net owned inventory change information and maintain complete documentation and system records.
Input to the rolling plan, annual plan and Crude Term Strategy.
Update on Trade embargoes, Custom duties at disport and logistics constraints, Environmental rules and regulations.
Play a critical role in Deal structuring and deal negotiations.
Entry into the Trading and other related system with rationale for trade.
Tactfully handle major National Oil Companies.
Maintain active and professional relationship with the counterparties.
Perform various system maintenance tasks, in coordination with the IT team.
Achieve economical utilization to COA/TC vessel.
Accuracy and diligence in numerical assessment.
Understanding of the fellow buyers net back and fellow sellers alternatives.
Education Requirement : Degree in engineering / statistics / economics / mathematics / business management.
Outstanding academic credentials Experience Requirement : Minimum 1-3 yr (for L6) experience in trading, preferably crude / feedstock trading for trader.
Preference for experience of working / interacting with supply planning or refinery (may be relaxed for suitable candidates).
Skills & Competencies : Numeric ability to understand and identify inter-relationships across market variables.
