Sr. Engineer - Purchase

Position: Sr. Engineer - Purchase
Department: Purchase & SCM
Reporting to: Operations Head

Key responsibilities:
Supplier sourcing and evaluation: Identifying potential suppliers, conducting market research, evaluating their capabilities, and establishing new vendor relationships based on price, quality, delivery time, and reliability.
RFQ and contract management: Preparing and issuing requests for quotations (RFQs), analyzing bids, negotiating contract terms, and managing supplier contracts to ensure favorable pricing and compliance.
Cost analysis and optimization: Analyzing purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiating better pricing with suppliers, and implementing cost-reduction strategies.
Purchase order management: Creating and managing purchase orders, tracking order status, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
Quality control: Establishing and enforcing quality standards for procured materials, conducting inspections, and addressing quality issues with suppliers.
Inventory management: Collaborating with the warehouse team to maintain optimal inventory levels, forecasting demand, and managing stock levels to avoid overstocking or shortages.
Project management support: Working closely with project teams to ensure timely procurement of materials needed for project execution.
Compliance and regulatory adherence: Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and local laws regarding procurement practices.

Required skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mech/Prod Engineering or Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
Proven experience of 3-5 years in procurement, preferably within the manufacturing or elevator or material handling industry.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Knowledge of sourcing strategies and supplier evaluation methodologies
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
