Job Description

Position Overview:

The Vice President of Human Resources (HR VP) is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of HR strategies and policies that align with the company's business objectives and growth. This role involves leading the HR department, driving organizational development, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR VP will work closely with the management team to foster a positive workplace culture, enhance employee engagement, and support the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Strategic HR Leadership:

a. Advise and collaborate with senior leadership on HR-related issues, including organizational structure, talent management, and workforce planning.

b. Lead the HR team in developing and implementing programs that drive employee engagement, retention, and performance.

c. Management reports for the CEO using business metrics and KPIs

d. Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the company's overall business goals and objectives.

e. Collaborate with management team to craft the company's vision and mission f. Decide and act on initiatives for equal opportunity, diversity etc.

g. Assume responsibility of labor and employee relations

h. Ensure all procedures comply with legal regulations and best practices

i. Analyze the effectiveness of HR operations and policies

Talent Management:

a. Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.

b. Design and implement performance management systems, including goal-setting, evaluations, and professional development.

c. Identify and address skill gaps and develop succession planning strategies.

Employee Relations and Culture:

d. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that supports employee well-being and productivity.

e. Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conflicts, disciplinary actions, and grievances.

f. Lead initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement, including recognition programs and feedback mechanisms.

Compensation and Benefits:

a. Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent while ensuring internal equity and compliance with legal requirements.

b. Oversee salary reviews, bonuses, and benefits administration, ensuring alignment with industry standards and company budget.

Compliance and Risk Management:

c. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

d. Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures to minimize legal risks and maintain ethical standards.

e. Monitor and address changes in labor laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

HR Analytics and Reporting:

a. Utilize HR metrics and data to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.

b. Prepare and present reports on HR activities, performance, and strategic initiatives to the executive team and board of directors.

Organizational Development:

a. Drive organizational change and transformation efforts, including restructuring, culture change, and leadership development.

b. Lead training and development programs to enhance employee skills and organizational capabilities.

What an Ideal Candidate looks like:

- Has a MBA / PGDM from a Tier 1 campus

- Has minimum of 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

- Has experience in electric vehicle (EV)/automotive/manufacturing, or tech-driven industries is highly desirable.

- Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results, particularly in fast-paced, high-growth companies.

- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.

- Is a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, high growth environment with a start up like mindset.

- Has the ability to partner with business to align the HR function with the company's long term goals and industry trends.

- Has the willingness to work closely with teams at all levels to build a strong organizational foundation.
