Pre Series Logistics Manager

Summary of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for all the Packaging planning & development as well as implementing LEAN initiatives in the new & running programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish the New Product Standard Time through Stop watch time study.
• To design trolleys, Pallets for easy material handling and smooth material feeding for production, plan for every part handled in the plant.
• Audit overall material flow of the plant and help logistic to rearrange it.
• To prepare Factory Layout and assembly Line layout
• Plan future requirements of the material handling & storage
• Study all the plant processes and implement LEAN concepts to improve processes & resource utilization
• Improve the flow of products and materials by decreasing cycle times and eliminating bottlenecks.
• Industrialization of layout in Assembly line based on customer requirements.
• To train the team members by means of establishing standardized work chart.
• To estimate the crew size (manpower utilization) through value stream mapping.
• To Involving Kaizen, SGA, & CFT during improvements.
• Implement systems for efficiency and quality improvement. To aid work cell. Layout, design, development and implementation of cell-based manufacturing.
• Reduce waste motion through the proper design of the work environment.
• Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• Support day to day operations.
• Work with all teams and departments in a manner that supports the production plan and the Customer s delivery requirements.
• To take care of Ergonomics and safety issues in cell working area.
• Lead the Ergonomic improvement team and update the results on SKHM site.
• Preparation of assy. Cell layout & approval from all the concern departments
• Standardize the material packaging.
• Decide the capital & labor requirements for packaging & logistic Planning.
• Calculate optimum truck utilization for all the RFQs and awarded programs
• Generate new ideas for the optimum packaging
• Help purchase to negotiate with packaging suppliers
• Attend all the Customer / Supplier meetings related to packaging.
• Insure all the required Cosma std. / Customer requirements are implemented in the packaging & logistic.
• Assist to Get approval on the Assembly Rack from customer
• Train operators to work on new pallets / racks.
• Handover packaging to logistic dept. after PPAP
• Assist & Handle any internal / customer engineering change coming in future.

Qualifications / Education, Skills and Experience Required

• BE & work related experience up to 15-17 years.
• Previous packaging, logistic, LEAN Lead by example, be trustworthy and dependable.
• Must have good oral communication skill ability to give direction operational people.
• Knowledge of packaging is must.
• Knowledge of safety.
• Good organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of PC & Microsoft office, word, excels, PPT, 3D & 2D CAD software.
• Motivated to excel at job of Industrial Engineer, learn and advance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office and manufacturing plant which is characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise and considerable tow motor traffic.
• The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
• Able to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends and additional hours as required
