Financial Analyst

As part of this role, you will assist in executing trades and supporting the management of mortgage loan portfolios within the secondary market, as well as support the financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes related to mortgage loan portfolios and trading activities. This role provides foundational experience in mortgage loan trading, financial planning and analysis, portfolio management and market analysis within the mortgage lending and capital market sectors

Role & responsibilities

• Assist senior traders in executing trades of mortgage loans based on market conditions and trading strategies.
• Monitor trade execution process, ensure accuracy of trade details, and maintain trade documentation.
• Collaborate with trading partners and other third parties to facilitate efficient trade settlements and resolve trade-related issues.
• Conduct market research and analysis to monitor mortgage market trends, interest rate movements, and regulatory developments.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics related to mortgage loan portfolios and trading activities.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes for mortgage loan trading operations, including revenue projections, expense analysis, and capital allocation.
• Collaborate with trading teams to develop financial models and scenario analysis to assess potential outcomes and optimize trading strategies.

Preferred candidate profile

• MBA from a premier college
• 1-3 years of experience in a financial analysis environment; mortgage real estate industry preferred
• Strong interest in financial markets, mortgage products, and investment analysis.
• Basic knowledge of financial modelling, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL), and familiarity with financial statements.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
