Back End Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Back-End Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our growing development team. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Python and SQL, and will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the back-end components of our applications. You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions that meet business and technical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the server-side logic of our applications using Python.
• Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code that interacts with various SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
• Collaborate with front-end developers to define API specifications and ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end services.
• Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems.
• Design and implement database schemas and queries, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
• Ensure security best practices are followed for handling sensitive data and system interactions.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that interact with various parts of the application ecosystem.
• Participate in code reviews, providing feedback and following best practices for software development.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to our current tech stack and architecture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Back-End Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience working with popular frameworks like Flask or Django.
• Expertise in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server), including writing and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Django ORM) and data migration strategies.
• Knowledge of database design principles, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
• Understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Experience with unit testing and debugging for server-side logic.
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments and basic system administration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, agile team environment.
