Assistant Librarian

Location: Rama University, Mandhana
Position Type: Full-Time, Regular

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily operations of the university library, including resource management, cataloging, and circulation.
• Provide reference and research support to students, faculty, and staff.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of the library's digital and physical collections.
• Help in the implementation and management of library software and systems for resource tracking and information retrieval.
• Assist in organizing and conducting library orientation sessions and workshops for students and staff.
• Ensure the library's physical space is organized and conducive to study, reading, and research.
• Supervise library assistants and student workers as needed.
• Assist in preparing reports, statistics, and other library-related documentation.
• Collaborate with academic departments and other units to promote library services and resources.
• Stay updated on developments in library science and technology, ensuring the library remains at the forefront of modern academic needs.

Qualifications:

• Educational Qualification:
  
• A Master's degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc.) or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Experience:
  
• 2-4 years of experience in a university or academic library setting, with a proven track record in library operations, cataloging, and user support.
• Skills and Competencies:
  
• Strong knowledge of library management software (e.g., Koha, Libsys, etc.).
• Familiarity with digital library systems, online databases, and e-resources.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and library staff.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
