Associate Manager- Finance & Accounts

Role & responsibilities

.1. Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
• Perform variance analysis (actual vs. budgeted/forecasted) to understand financial performance.
• Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting, ensuring alignment with business strategy.

2. Accounting and Financial Control

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities such as journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Implement and maintain financial control processes to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Review and approve reconciliations for all accounts (bank, general ledger, etc.).

3. Internal Audit and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.
• Lead internal audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Monitor compliance with tax regulations, financial laws, and industry-specific rules.

4. Taxation

• Oversee corporate tax filings, including VAT, income tax, and other tax compliance matters.
• Provide strategic advice on tax optimization and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with tax authorities and external auditors during tax assessments.

5. Budgeting and Financial Planning

• Work closely with senior management to prepare and manage annual budgets.
• Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts, and provide variance explanations.
• Use financial data to support decision-making on cost management and resource allocation.

6. Team Management and Development

• Supervise junior finance team members and provide guidance or training.
• Review work and ensure accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.
• Motivate and coach staff to develop their technical skills and career growth.

7. Financial Strategy and Decision Support

• Provide financial insights to support business strategies and investments.
• Help management evaluate new business opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Contribute to financial decision-making, offering solutions to improve profitability or reduce costs.

8. External Audit Coordination

• Work with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
• Manage requests from auditors, ensuring all documentation is accurate and provided on time.

Preferred candidate profile

Chartered Accountant with 3 - 5 years of work experience

Proficiency in Tamil and English Language
