Quantity Surveying - Manager ( QS )

Role & responsibilities

1) Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for the construction of high-rise buildings. Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs. Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.

2) Contract Management: Draft, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with clients, contractors, and subcontractors. Ensure all parties adhere to the contractual terms and conditions. Handle contract administration and resolve any issues or disputes that arise.

3) Procurement: Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services. Prepare and issue purchase orders and subcontract agreements. Manage procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials.

4) Cost Control and Reporting: Track project expenses and provide regular financial reports. Perform cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to the budget.

5) Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to costs and contracts. Develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks.

6) Valuations and Payments: Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts. Certify contractor and subcontractor payments. Handle variations and change orders.

7) Compliance and Standards: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, health and safety, and quality standards. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

8) Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders. Facilitate clear communication and coordination among all parties involved in the project. Attend and contribute to project meetings.
