Service Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day engine repair work, including scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Handle Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) jobs and troubleshoot faults and issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems related to engines, including overhauling and electrical troubleshooting.
• Possess knowledge of generator synchronizing panels and electronic engine troubleshooting using special electronic tools (added advantage).
• Address customer technical issues effectively and communicate solutions clearly.
• Persuade customers to use genuine spare parts for maintenance and repairs.
• Generate & send service invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy.
• Convince customers & justify service charges by clearly explaining the values delivered.
• Understand and handle commercial terms like invoice values, GST amounts, total invoice value, discounts, proforma invoices, quotations, and contracts.
• Draft maintenance contracts tailored to customer requirements.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively in English, Hindi, and the local language.
• Exhibit qualities like teamwork, collaboration, and self-discipline.
• Write technical service reports, including Failure Analysis Reports (FAR).
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams.
• Act as a proactive, self-driven individual who ensures tasks are completed efficiently.
• Provide necessary data and support to the sales team and management for enhanced co-ordination.
• Share required information with the OEM Principal if required to ensure seamless communication.
• Assist the parts department in achieving their sales targets by promo􀆟ng genuine spare part and creating customer awareness.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Automobile engineering or related filed preferred.
• Proven experience in engine repair and troubleshooting, specifically with Volvo Penta and Mitsubishi engines.
• Familiarity with generator synchronizing panels and electronic engine diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of commercial documentation and terms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
