Job Summary:
- We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Contract & Claims Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have 15-25 years of experience in managing all aspects of contract administration, claims management, and arbitration for major civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Administration: Review and analyze all contract documents, including agreements, specifications, drawings, and amendments.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Monitor contract performance and progress.
- Prepare and submit timely progress reports and invoices. Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to resolve contractual issues.
- Claims Management: Identify, analyze, and prepare claims for time extensions, cost increases, and other contractual entitlements. Negotiate and resolve claims with clients and subcontractors.
- Prepare and present claims documentation, including supporting evidence and legal arguments.
- Manage all aspects of the claims process, from identification to resolution. Arbitration Management: Represent the company in arbitration proceedings.
- Prepare and submit arbitration briefs and other legal documents. Conduct research and legal analysis.
- Assist in the selection and appointment of arbitrators. Manage the arbitration process effectively and efficiently.
Contract Letter Writing & Documentation:
- Draft and review contract correspondence, including letters of intent, notices, and change orders. Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract files and records.
Develop and implement contract management procedures and best practices.
Other Duties:
- Provide legal and contractual advice to project teams. Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract strategies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- 15-25 years of progressive experience in contract administration, claims management, and arbitration in the civil engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of contract law, construction law, and arbitration procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
