Research Assistant - Analyst (3rd Party Position) (Tata Chemicals Ltd)

Job Purpose:

Research Assistant in this position would be responsible for providing technical and analytical support to R&D for the following projects:

1. Analytical assistance for Probiotic & Synbiotic research (testing of postbiotics and metabolites) and extend support for existing and pipeline NQ projects.

3. Assist in new product development on Green Chelating agents (involves analytical method development, product characterization, synthesis & application testing)

In addition, the RA will be routinely involved in maintenance of lab instruments, calibration, documentation and record keeping in LIMS.

Roles & responsibilities - Be actively involved in analytical method development for new molecules in Nutrition & Performance materials.

• Perform routine analysis of physical and chemical parameters using standard test procedures from compendial references such as FSSAI /AOAC/ AACC /FCC / OECD.
• Assisting in method validation and verification of test procedures wherever applicable.
• Extraction of compounds from various matrices and their analysis using chromatography techniques like GC, HPLC, GC-MS & LC-MS.
• Be involved in product analytical characterization and impurity profiling.
• Perform Stability studies of finished goods.
• Handling and maintaining lab instruments including routine calibration, inventories of consumables and spares for smooth functioning.
• Record daily experimentations in LIMS.
• Review of scientific literature, data analysis & prepare technical reports.
• Follow safety guidelines and actively promote quality research.
• Participate in team and project work assignments; contribute to a positive working environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Master degree in Analytical Chemistry
• 2 - 3 years of experience in analytical research labs preferably related to food domain.

Essential Attributes:

• 2-3 years of experience in research labs, food analytical/QC.
• Practical working knowledge of various analytical techniques and method development is must.
• Analytical method validation and verification.
• Hands-on experience in HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS & Spectrophotometry is preferred.
• Chemical and physical analysis of compounds using standard test methods like FSSAI, AOAC, FCC, AACC, APHA, and IS guidelines.
• Good computational and data management skills.
