Vehicle Sourcing Specialist

Job Summary

The Vehicle Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and maintaining a network of vehicles and carriers to support the companys freight operations. This role involves building strong relationships with vendors, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring vehicle availability aligns with operational demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Procurement: Identify and onboard qualified vehicle suppliers, carriers, or owner-operators to meet company requirements.
• Vehicle Types: 20 ft, 32 ft SXL, 32 ft MXL (PAN INDIA Long-Haul Movements)
• Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with vehicle suppliers, ensuring long-term partnerships and reliable service.
• Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure cost-effective and high-quality vehicle solutions.
• Market Research: Monitor market trends, vehicle availability, and pricing to optimize sourcing strategies.
• Compliance: Ensure all sourced vehicles meet legal, safety, and operational standards. Verify licensing, insurance, and certifications.
• Coordination: Collaborate with the operations team to align vehicle availability with freight schedules and customer demands.
• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any vehicle shortages, delays, or performance issues promptly.
• Reporting: Maintain records of vendor performance, sourcing costs, and availability metrics for analysis and improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics, procurement, or vehicle sourcing (freight/shipping industry preferred).
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with vehicle types, freight operations, and industry standards.
• Ability to analyze market trends and data to make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CRM, ERP, or logistics platforms).
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
