Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Manager/Sr. Project Manager Civil to lead and oversee all aspects of our civil engineering and construction projects. This senior leadership role will be responsible for driving the success of large-scale infrastructure and civil works projects, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in civil engineering, a strong background in project management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership and Planning:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the successful delivery of civil projects across various sectors (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, land development, etc.).
    • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
    • Drive business growth by identifying new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends.

Project Management Oversight:

    • Oversee all phases of civil engineering projects, from planning and design to execution, commissioning, and handover.
    • Ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
    • Manage risk assessment and mitigation plans for each project to ensure that potential challenges are proactively addressed.

Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and manage a diverse team of engineers, project managers, and construction professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities.
    • Foster a high-performance culture focused on teamwork, safety, innovation, and accountability.
    • Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and ensure continuous improvement within the team.

Budget and Resource Management:

    • Develop, manage, and track project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control measures.
    • Monitor procurement processes and subcontractor performance, ensuring that the best materials and services are used while maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Stakeholder & Client Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding project status, risks, and issues.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality results and addressing concerns or disputes in a timely manner.

Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all projects comply with relevant local, regional, and national regulations, codes, and standards.
    • Champion a safety-first culture across all operations, ensuring that health, safety, and environmental policies are strictly followed.
    • Implement quality control measures and regular audits to maintain the highest standards of workmanship.

Performance Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare regular reports for senior management and clients, detailing project progress, financial status, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Analyze project outcomes and identify areas for improvement in both project execution and team performance.
    • Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future project planning and delivery.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in civil engineering and construction.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of service delivered.

Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering, a senior management or leadership role overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, construction practices, and project management methodologies.

  • Skills:

    • Managing contractors.
    • Checking bills.
    • Ssupervising contracted works.
    • Proven track record of managing large, complex civil projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, land development).
    • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and vendor management.
    • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and resources.
    • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to make strategic decisions under pressure.
    • Knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
    • Monitoring day-to-day activities like DPR/MPR/WPR checks
