Senior Software Engineer/ Lead Engineer (Informix 4GL)

Key Responsibilities

Design & Architecture: Contribute to system architecture, data modeling, and design decisions in our Informix/4GL environment.

Develop & Maintain: Enhance the IBM Informix/4GL environment to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability. Develop new features and fix bugs in various product lines and applications. Write clean, scalable 4GL code and refactor existing modules for improved performance.

Technical Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions. Help improve the performance and reliability of the applications.

Deployment & Integration: Work with DevOps pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments of 4GL applications.

Documentation: Create and maintain clear, detailed documentation using modern tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Fisheye).

Testing & Quality: Conduct comprehensive testing to uphold strict quality standards and ensure system stability. Work with the team to build test automation frameworks and automated test cases for long term maintainability of the codebase.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support ongoing product development and continuous improvements in patient care solutions. You may need to travel onsite to US, Europe or Australia for customer meetings.

Qualifications & Skills

Informix/4GL Expertise: Proven experience in IBM Informix/4GL development for atleast 2 years. Experience with automation testing, CI/CD and security practices in these environments would be a big plus.

Database Proficiency: Experience working with SQL in Informix environment. Ability to understand, debug and author complex stored procedures, triggers and database schemas.

Operating Systems & Scripting: Strong Linux, Unix, or Windows command-line and scripting skills.

Documentation Tools: Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and Fisheye (or similar).

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Experience with 4JS Genero or exposure to health insurance domain would be a plus
