Role & responsibilities :

Industrial Relations (IR): Job Description

• Labor Relations Management:
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with labor.
• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and contracts.
• Labor Contractor Management:
• Develop, review, and negotiate labor contracts and agreements in alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
• Analyze existing labor contracts and recommend necessary amendments or revisions.
• Ensure all agreements comply with labor laws, regulations, and standards.
• Oversee processes for salary advances, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and repayment schedules.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of advances granted to workers and ensure timely reconciliation.
• Worker Accommodation Management:
• Oversee the management of pre-existing worker accommodations to ensure they meet health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Coordinate maintenance and improvements to housing facilities as needed.
• Address worker accommodation concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
• Develop policies and guidelines for the allocation and utilization of accommodation resources.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations governing worker accommodations.
• Recruitment for Juniors, Helpers, and Supervisor Positions:
• Develop job descriptions and qualifications for juniors, helpers, and supervisors roles.
• Collaborate with department heads to determine hiring needs and timelines.
• Attend ITI/ job fairs, and advertising campaigns to attract candidates.
• Screen applications, conduct interviews, and facilitate selection processes.
• Oversee onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Maintain a talent pipeline to address immediate and future staffing needs.
• Compliance and Legal Framework:
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and regulations.
• Update management on labor law amendments and implement changes accordingly.
• Conflict Resolution:
• Mediate and resolve disputes between workers and management.
• Handle grievances and disciplinary issues in a fair and timely manner
• Policy Development:
• Establish and update HR and IR policies, including grievance handling and disciplinary processes.
• Implement workplace safety policies in coordination with compliance officers.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of negotiations, agreements, and labor relations activities.
• Prepare reports on employee relations and compliance audits for senior management.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Education:
• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in HR and industrial relations, preferably in a manufacturing or unionized environment.
• Military Background is preferable
• Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and industrial relations practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
