Sdet Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Automation Test Lead/Manager to oversee the design, development, and implementation of test automation frameworks, strategies, and processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in tools such as Selenium, Postman, REST Assured, and performance testing, combined with proficiency in Core Java, JavaScript, or other programming languages. The candidate will also drive the quality assurance strategy across multiple projects while mentoring and leading the QA team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Automation Strategy & Execution

• Design and implement robust automation frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Develop and execute API automation test scripts using Postman and REST APIs.
• Create and maintain reusable customized XPath locators for UI automation.

2. Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance and support in automation and performance testing.
• Define goals and success metrics for the QA team, ensuring high-quality delivery within timelines.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and develop training plans to upskill the team.

3. Test Management & Reporting

• Develop detailed test plans, scenarios, and test cases to meet business requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and track defects using tools like JIRA, Azure Test Plans, or similar tools.
• Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders on test progress, risks, and coverage.
• Enforce best practices and standards for QA documentation and testing processes.

4. Performance Testing

• Plan and execute performance testing using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or other frameworks.
• Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for improvement.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
• Stay updated with industry trends in automation testing, performance testing, and programming practices.

Required Skills

1. Core Expertise:
• Automation Testing Tools: Selenium WebDriver, Postman, REST Assured.
• Programming Languages: Core Java, JavaScript, or any other programming language.
• Customized XPath: Strong expertise in writing optimized and reusable locators.
2. API Testing:
• Strong understanding of REST API concepts, testing tools (Postman), and API automation frameworks.
3. Performance Testing:
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
4. CI/CD Integration:
• Hands-on experience integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines.
5. Test Management Tools:
• Proficiency with tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Azure DevOps for test case management and defect tracking.
6. Other Skills:
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Knowledge of Performance Studio Development and its implementation.
• Experience in cloud-based testing environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Hands-on experience with mobile testing tools (e.g., Appium).

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in test automation (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer) are a plus.
