Cloud Ops Leader

Generic responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and expertise to build a CloudOps team for the account.
• Mentor and guide the team in all infrastructure related issues and provide technical training and act as advisory consultant.
• Keep abreast of market movements in the Cloud Ops technology space so as to be able to consult and recommend transformations to improve cloud operations

Customer facing responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement Ops solutions for our customer cloud infrastructures.
• Recommend enhancements to the design, operations, security and compliance practices.
• Design optimal solutions for high availability and disaster discovery for cloud infrastructures.
• Design optimal monitoring and observability constructs for cloud infrastructures.
• Design and implement Application Performance Monitoring and Infrastructure Monitoring solutions.
• Contribute to DevSecOps process development and automation tasks.
• Design policies and rules for cloud governance framework to operate cloud infrastructures.
• Design and lead site reliability engineering activities for cloud infrastructures.
• Ensure service reliability and meet customer SLAs.
• Lead cloud infrastructure cost optimization activities.
• Lead on-premise to cloud and cross vendor workload migration activities
• Responsible for adopting new cloud services and features for cloud operations
• Lead the periodic assessment of the infra-architecture and adapt/propose latest solutions operations.

• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure administration and operations.
• 5+ years proven experience in leading teams in cloud operations.
• Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in atleast one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and knowledge of the remaining.
• Must have experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Must have indepth experience and knowledge on aspects of cloud governance resource management & provisioning. security & compliance, cost management & optimization, risk management & incident response, standardization practices
• Must have a strong understanding of native services of the cloud platform that can be leveraged fo Cloud Ops. Must also have a strong understanding of industry alternates to native cloud services that can be used in the context of cost optimization and achieving vendor independence.
• Must have a good understanding of cloud and cloud native architecture (microservices, containerization, container orchestration) and alternates in the industry.
• Must have good knowledge of programming/scripting languages Python, Java, Unix scripting
• Must have a strong automation first mindset towards solutioning.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure Automation and relevant tools for Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, CFN etc.).
• Strong understanding about the networking constructs in cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud operational tools for both application and infrastructure monitoring (APM NewRelic, Splunk, Infrastructure Monitoring DataDog, Nagios, Tracing & Logging Open Telemetry, Sleuth, Zipkin, Micrometer etc)
• Show have good knowledge of DevSecOps practices and technologies.
• Strong knowledge in implementing backup and recovery strategies for cloud infrastructures.
• Should have Security/DevOps/Administration specialty certifications in any of the popular cloud platforms.
• Should have good knowledge of Incident Management platforms like JIRA, ServiceNow etc
