Electrical Lead Engineer

Job Description

• At least 5+ years\ experience on design of electrical system/sub-systems
• Accountable for all committed Deliverables on day to day basis
• Study on input requirements for individual work packages / projects
• Deploys and applies Design & development procedures
• Organizes and leads work package reviews for the project he/she is in charge
• Manages Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan
• Organizes Design / Verification reviews with internal team and customer technical teams
• Conduct self and team internal quality checks and ensure the accuracy and consistency all across deliveries
• Technically lead projects, direct & guide team members and interface with internal stake holders and customer SPCs to realize project quality and delivery schedule
• Mentoring & training team members on electrical knowledge on Rolling Stock/ Rail/Loco/Train domain to upgrade on competency level
• Build knowledge repository, training material to train new engineers inducted into team
• Prepare work instructions on various electrical design procedure and document best practices
• Excellent oral & written communication

• In-depth / working level expertise on electrical system/sub-system design on rolling stock /Locomotive
• Ability to validate various electrical installations on CAB, underframe, cabinets, lighting etc.
• Exposure to electrical system/sub-system design related to multiple AC-DC traction voltage systems per UIC 550 standard
• Experience in Electrical Design of HV and LV devices used in Rolling stock domain
• Experience in Electrical Schematics design, Single Line diagrams, Cable and Harness Design using AutoCAD, Eplan and E3. series (E3. Cable, E3. Schematics, E3. Panel and CATIA harness routing)
• Ability to propose multiple concepts for a requirement and validate/select cost effective alternate
• Experience in electrical Component Sizing and Selection/Calculations Cables, cable trays/supports, Contactors, Relays, Miniature circuit breakers, MCCB, Servo motor, Drives etc.
• Experience in Electrical Harness Design and Routing preferably in CATIA V5
• Ability to design architecture of an equipment and optimize installation issues
• Proven experience in Interacting with System engineers, Control Engineers, Sourcing, Suppliers and customers
• Ability to define component and assemblies of sub-systems as per manufacturing & assembly processes
• Have clear understanding on various costs involved on proposed technical solutions
• Capable of selecting appropriate electrical devices and components with respect to electrical Cabinet design
