Job Summary:
The Head of Procurement is responsible for overseeing the procurement strategy and operations of the organization.
This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that procurement practices align with the company's goals and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Analyze the IT (Software & Hardware) and other needs of the organization.
- Implement Strategic partnerships with All Major OEMs (IT & non-IT category) for Domestic & Overseas business.
- Bench mark the existing costs against market for the various contracts for facilities and other requirements.
- Categorize purchases based on importance (value and need) and arrange rate contracts for the repeat purchases.
- Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
- Manage supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation, issue resolution and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Continuously scan market to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities and pricing fluctuations.
- Understand buy vs lease arrangements and make recommendations basis organisational requirements.
Policies & Process:
- Implement procurement systems and tools (p2p) to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local suppliers and promoting ethical sourcing.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organisational goals.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws.
Continuous improvement, Analytics & Audits:
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring the timeliness and effectiveness of goods and services.
- Devising initiatives to drive procurement performance.
People Management & Leadership:
- Must be able to lead and motivate the team to ensure that all activities align with business objectives and fosters a collaborative environment.
Other Skills:
- Strong Negotiation.
- Master Data Management Process.
- Procurement Risk Management.
- Vendors Contract Management.
- Periodical MIS.
- Knowledge of GST and other applicable regulations.
Soft Skills:
- SAP ERP (MM Module must).
- P2p tools , Microsoft Office.
Education & Experience:
- Graduate / Postgraduate.
- Supply Chain Certification if any.
- 15+ Years Relevant Industry Experience.
