Head - Sourcing/Procurement (10-15 yrs)

Job Description:

- We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Sourcing/Procurement to join our team and lead the sourcing of fruits and vegetables for our growing business.

- This role demands an individual with extensive experience in managing procurement processes, ideally from the quick commerce or retail sector.

- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sourcing large quantities of fresh produce, including managing the procurement of up to 50 tons of fruits and vegetables daily.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring timely delivery and optimal quality.

- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and farmers to secure reliable supply channels.

- Oversee the procurement of 50+ tons of fresh produce daily, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality standards.

- Manage a team of sourcing and procurement professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.

- Work cross-functionally with the operations, logistics, and quality control teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.

- Ensure compliance with all procurement regulations and sustainability practices in sourcing.

- Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement, ideally in the quick commerce or retail industry.

- Extensive experience in sourcing large volumes of fresh produce, with the ability to manage high-volume procurement (50+ tons daily).

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating teams.

- A proactive, results-driven mindset, with a "go-getter" attitude.

- Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
