Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
   
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring they are adhered to throughout the construction process.
2. Tendering and Contract Administration:
   
• Assist in the preparation and review of tender documents for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Analyze tender submissions and provide recommendations for contractor selection.
• Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
3. Cost Control and Monitoring:
   
• Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, including cost reporting and variance analysis.
• Implement cost control measures to ensure the project stays within the approved budget.
• Provide regular updates and reports to project managers and stakeholders.
4. Measurement and Quantification:
   
• Perform accurate measurement of materials and labor for construction works.
• Prepare bills of quantities (BoQs), work schedules, and other documentation required for pricing, procurement, and project management.
5. Risk and Value Management:
   
• Identify potential risks to project costs and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Implement value engineering practices to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance standards.
6. Procurement and Supplier Management:
   
• Manage procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
• Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to achieve favorable terms and pricing.
7. Change Order Management:
   
• Assess and evaluate changes to the project scope, including cost implications.
• Prepare and process variations or change orders in consultation with clients and contractors.
8. Site Visits and Assessments:
   
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure that work is being completed according to specifications.
• Assess work completed and certify progress payments for contractors and subcontractors.
9. Final Account Preparation:
   
• Prepare final accounts and ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for financially.
• Resolve any disputes or discrepancies in project costs.
