Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Government Contracts Specialist responsible for leading the pursuit of federal and state government contracts in the IT and Hi-Tech sectors. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of government procurement processes, including RFIs, RFPs, and bid proposals, to secure new business opportunities and drive organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development of proposals, bids, quotations, and RFP responses, ensuring compliance with government requirements and alignment with company objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and craft compelling proposals that effectively address client needs.
Develop and implement strategies to identify and pursue government contracting opportunities in the IT and technology sectors.
Analyze market trends and maintain an in-depth understanding of government procurement policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain relationships with key government agencies and stakeholders to facilitate business development efforts.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote services and solutions.
Ensure all proposals and contracts comply with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
Identify potential risks associated with contract execution and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead cross-functional teams in the preparation and submission of proposals, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff involved in the proposal development process.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, APMP) are advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or proposal management, with a focus on federal and state government contracts in the IT sector.
Proven track record of successfully managing RFI, RFP, and bid proposal processes.
Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals.
Proficiency in project management and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Analytical skills to assess opportunities and develop effective strategies.
Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
