Quality Manager - 2 & 3 Wheeler EV
Location: Vadodara, Gujarat
Job Summary:
The Quality Manager will oversee and ensure the highest quality standards for the production and performance of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes that ensure products meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to enhance product quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management strategy for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
- Establish quality benchmarks and KPIs to ensure product quality at all stages of production.
2. Process Development & Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance production quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with R&D to integrate quality considerations into product design and development phases.
3. Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, EPA, etc.) related to electric vehicles.
- Stay updated on relevant quality standards and regulations and integrate them into the quality management system.
4. Quality Control:
- Implement quality control procedures for incoming materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the effectiveness of quality control measures.
5. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the quality assurance team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality-related issues and best practices.
6. Problem Solving:
- Identify root causes of quality issues and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
7. Customer Feedback:
- Analyze customer feedback and warranty data to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve quality-related complaints effectively.
8. Reporting:
- Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting trends, issues, and improvements.
- Lead regular quality meetings to discuss progress on quality initiatives and improvements.
9. Supplier Quality Management:
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet quality standards and performance metrics.
- Conduct supplier audits and maintain relationships to ensure ongoing compliance with quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in quality management within the automotive or electric vehicle industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in the design and implementation of quality assurance and control processes..
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
