Role & responsibilities

1. Customer Quality

  • Ensure product quality as per design specification to avoid any line loss at customer end or customer complaints, due to poor quality.
  • Ensure Warranty Performance Rating achievement as per Customer set Targets.
  • Ensure Quality Performance Rating achievement as per Customer set Targets.
  • Visit to Customer ends for Quality related matters and ensure adequate closure of the customer issue/ complaints
  • Take CAPA for all customer issues/ complaints

2. In-house Quality for assigned Product Line

  • Meet In-house Machine Shop Rejection PPM as per set Annual Targets.
  • Meet In-house Assembly Shop FTR as per set Annual Targets.
  • Meet COPQ as per set Annual Targets.
  • Meet Supplier Rejection PPM as per set Annual Targets.
  • Meet Shop Floor Inventory Targets as per set Annual Targets.
  • Continue to improve CTQ parameters for CP/CPK achievement of min.1.33

Lead the QM Pillar Pillar Head role in Plant TPM Structure, for Plant Manufacturing Excellence journey.

  • Contribute in the Annual VIP program by initiating manufacturing cost saving / quality improvement projects.
  • Co-ordinate with cross functional Team members at Plant and at Corporate for continual process improvements to improve the product quality.

3. Supplier Quality

  • Guide the Supplier Quality team for regular production parts for the assigned Product Line
  • Achieve Supplier Rejection PPM achievement as per set Annual Targets.
  • Ensure effective closure of 8Ds with Supplier within Target time.
  • Ensure Supplier Process Audit compliance as per Annual Plan.
  • Ensure Special Process (CQI) Controls compliance as per Annual plan.
  • Continue to improve the Vendors performance Quality Rating by close co-ordination with Vendors.
  • Ensure 4M Approval for any supplier change.

4. Quality Management System

  • Ensure adherence to the Plant Quality Management System.
  • Ensure adherence to all Customer Specific system requirements - addressed in Plant Quality Management System.
  • Support the Certification Body for annual Certification/Surveillance Audit.
  • Support the MPR/MRM/Internal System Audit/Process Audit/Product Audit as per Annual Plan.
  • Monthly presentation of Plant Quality MIS Report
  • Provide inputs for establishment of Safety Management System OHSAS 18001 & Environment Management System ISO 14001, along with Plant HR and Maint. Function.
  • Support annual events (with relevant stakeholders such BE) events like - Quality Month celebration, innovation day celebration, technology day

5. New Product Development System

  • Timely closure of QG 15 Gates as per SOP.
  • Active participation in PFMEA/Advance Quality Planning/Formulation of Quality Plan and Standards to achieve 0 defect in New Parts.
  • Active participation in new parts gauge planning/measurement system analysis to avoid any defect due to weak measurement system
  • Active participation for new part process establishment to achieve PP/PPK min. 1.33.

6. Team Management

  • Lead the team for their continual development by effective direction and guidance.
  • Prepare the Team Training plan considering the gaps areas and continually improve the Team competency.
  • Plan for annual programs for certification of System Auditors/Process Auditors/Product Auditors with the help of Corporate ED&T Team

Schedule and lead the Quality Tools Training for Cross Functional Team Members.
