Quality Controller, Medical Coding

1. Educational qualifications required: Certification in medical coding from AHIMA or AAPC is mandatory to apply for this position

2. Prior experience/skillsets required:  a. Should have 3 to 4 years of experience in Evaluation and Management (E&M), and Emergency Department (Profee and Facility-Injections/Infusions) coding. b. Good knowledge of ICD-10 CM, CPT, HCPCS, Modifiers, and Procedures (major & minor). c. Should know the key components of MDM & determine the level of E&M accurately. d. Should have Coding experience in multiple specialties. e. Should have very good domain knowledge, communication, & MS office skills.

3. Roles and responsibilities:  a. Should clarify doubts and educate the coders. b. Conduct refresher and error-specific training. c. Attend client calls & prepare client-specific documents for the team’s better understanding. d. Responsible for grooming coders to the next level in the hierarchy e. Should assist in day-to-day operations and perform any tasks assigned by the reporting Manager. f. Should perform a root cause and error analysis as directed by the reporting Manager. Provide a corrective and preventive action plan to reduce errors. g. Prepare analytical reports based on the sample charts provided by prospective clients.

4. Reporting hierarchy (reporting to designation): ATM/TM/STM

5. Career growth: Quality Controller ➔ Quality Analyst ➔ Associate Team Manager (ATM)➔ Team Manager (TM)➔ Senior Team Manager (STM)

6. Additional Perks: a. Medical insurance of 4 lakhs per annum. Coverage is for self, spouse, and 2 children under 25 years of age. This component cannot be reimbursed. b.
