Job Description
What you will do
- Demonstrate an understanding of testing methodologies,creating test cases ,defect reporting and debugging.
- Responsible for creation of manual test cases based on assessment and understanding of product specifications and test plan.
- Collaborate with peers, Product Owners and Test Lead to understand product functionality and specifications to create effective test cases and test automation .
- Responsible for creating test scripts for automation testing by leveraging the knowledge in programming languages preferably Java.
- Conduct rigorous testing to validate product functionality per the test plan and record testing results and defects in Test management tool, JIRA.
- Create defects as a result of test execution with correct severity and priority;
- Responsible for conducting Functional ,Non-Functional Testing, analyzing performance metrics and identifying bottlenecks to optimize system performance.
- Responsible for conducting Retest and Regression testing for new feature development.
- Review all requirements/acceptance criteria to assure completeness and coverage
- Ensure communications are thorough and accurate for all work documentation including status updates.
- Actively involve in root cause analysis and problem -solving activities to prevent defects and improve product quality. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the overall quality assurance process. Work with team leads to track and determine prioritization of defect fixes.
- Work closely with the team to ensure quality goals are achieved and delivered on time.
What experience you need
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Business or equivalent job experience required
- 1+ years of experience in software testing and automation .
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle and Defect Life Cycle.
- Good Knowledge in programming languages like core-Java,SQL
- Experience in Automation Testing tools -Karate ,Cucumber, Gatling, Selenium, Bruno
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
What could set you apart
- Experience with cloud based testing environments(AWS,GCP)
- Knowledge of API testing tools(Bruno, Swagger) and on SOAP API testing using SoapUI .
- Possession of quality Certification in ISTQB or similar or Google cloud certification..
- A passion for staying updated with industry trends and emerging quality technologies.
- A proactive approach to identifying potential quality issues and implementing preventive measures.
- Experience working in a TDD/BDD environment and can utilize technologies such as JUnit, Rest Assured, Appium, Cucumber frameworks, APIs (REST/SOAP)
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Expertise in Automation framework creation for both WEB and API automation testing using selenium, Rest Assured ,Cucumber or Karate.
- Knowledge in Maven and Git.
- Knowledge in performance assessment of an application under test(AUT).
- Knowledge of Jira Confluence.
