General Summary:

Qualcomm India is seeking a Manager, IT with 10+ years of experience to oversee OneIT Storage and Backup Infrastructure operations which includes storage & backup like NetApp, Dell, Pure and Backup systems which includes Cohesity and Networker.

About The Role ::

This person will be a member of a global 24/7/365 IT infrastructure operations team focused on enterprise Storage, backup and recovery who should possesses a strong understanding of IT fundamentals and has accumulated significant understanding and experience in Storage & Data Protection domain. Learns details of their technical area and analyzes variables to suggest modifications for improvement. Demonstrates technical skills required to complete complex tasks within area of responsibility and develops expertise outside of own area.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Storage and backup administrators, providing guidance and mentorship.Set goals, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets the bigger team objectives.Collaborates with individuals inside own team and with other global IT teams to complete project work.Engages with all levels of management and key stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage support and operational objectives.Identify and incorporate future service management needs into a well-considered multi-year roadmap across the support areas.Identifies, constructs, and implements plans to remove friction in the day-to-day operation.Lead the culture of continuous improvement by identifying projects, initiatives & getting the business or leadership engagement and deliver them.Contribute to Operation Reviews of IT services covering Customer Satisfaction, SLA performance, and Operational metrics.Producing regular and accurate service management reports and dashboards for the leadership team.Manage internal customer relationships with leaders across the technology organization.Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new plans or programs. Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etcSupports achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.Building the organizational capacity necessary to execute the strategy.Skilled in generating custom reports/dashboards and Knowledgebase documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems).

OR
Bachelors degree in a non-technical field (e.g., Business, Humanities, Marketing) and 1+ year of IT-relevant experience.

OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of IT-relevant experience.

2+ years of any combination of academic or work experience with programming (e.g., Java, Python, etc.).

1+ year of any combination of academic or work experience with Data Structures, algorithms, and data stores.

Prospective candidate should be technically sound in the following.

Working independently with minimum supervision.Have prior knowledge working in 24/7/365 IT infrastructure operation.Providing supervision to direct reports.Broad knowledge and understanding of different IT applications and infrastructure. Strong analytical/problem solving skills, ability to provide alternatives, root cause analysis, testing skills and ability to make thoughtful proposals are also among the skills requiredStrong understanding of ITIL or similar service management process standards Devops, s/w development and scriptingNetApp cluster modes, Dell Isilon and Pure StorageCohesity Data Protect and Dell EMC NetworkerTape libraries from vendors like Oracle and Spectra logic or similarSnapmirrors/Snapvaults and Disaster Recovery (including Disaster Recovery of Backup catalogs)Knowledge on OS (Linux and/or Solaris)

Having excellent interpersonal and leadership skills will be critical for success:success depends on building rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders across the organization.Track record with delivering high availability in complex, global environments.Have a wide degree of creativity and latitude to adjust to rapidly changing plans and circumstances.Experience working in a hybrid on-prem and public cloud environment.knowledge on Splunk queries and Splunk DashboardsCertifications from major vendors like NetApp, Dell and Cohesity.Any other skills that support storage and backup, not covered above.

Minimum qualification:

Sound knowledge in end-to-end backup / storage activities

Providing supervision to direct reports.

Manage systems to provide insight into utilization, and configuration Ability to manage/handle Sev 1 tickets on priority and flexible with working hours.

Analytical/problem solving ability. Time management and organizational skills Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualification:10+ years of relevant Storage & Backup technologies.Willingness to learn new technologies and processes, and quickly apply themAbility to work seamlessly with both vendors and internal stakeholdersCollaborate with cross-functional team to achieve common objectivesIdentify and drive efficiency improvement initiativesAbility to escalate critical issues to internal and/or 3rd-parties, as appropriate, and communicate status and resolution to the team.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently while making sound decisionsComfortable working in a performance-based and structured environment while demonstrating high ethical standardsGood knowledge of industry tools
