Location: Hyderabad

Work Mode: Work from Office

Job Overview:

As a QC Automation Engineer at Foundation AI, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our sophisticated enterprise applications. This is an individual contributor role requiring a deep understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, with a strong emphasis on automation. You will be responsible for the end-to-end testing process, from planning and designing automated test cases to execution, as well as identifying defects and ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of our products.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Frameworks & Tools: Develop, implement, and maintain robust automated test scripts and frameworks using industry-standard tools and technologies to support continuous integration and testing across various platforms.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure high-quality software delivery throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), focusing on automation in both development and testing processes.
Test Strategy & Design: Design and implement comprehensive test strategies, including unit testing , integration testing , system testing , and acceptance testing , with a focus on automated testing for efficiency and scalability.
Continuous Improvement & Optimization: Proactively identify opportunities for test automation , streamline testing processes, and reduce manual intervention to optimize software development workflows and accelerate time-to-market.
Debugging & Issue Resolution: Lead troubleshooting efforts, identify root causes of issues using advanced debugging techniques, and work with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
API & Web Service Testing: Automate and execute API and web service testing (SOAP/REST) using tools such as SOAP UI , Postman , or custom automation frameworks, ensuring data integrity and functional correctness across systems.
Backend Testing: Leverage SQL expertise to automate backend testing for data validation and integrity across relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
Test Execution & Reporting: Execute automated test suites, track defects, and provide detailed reports on test results, defects, and overall test progress using tools like JIRA . Continuously monitor and improve test case coverage and defect prevention.
Best Practices & Quality Advocacy: Champion test automation best practices across the team, ensuring adherence to coding standards, quality assurance principles, and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Tools:

Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience in building and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks (e.g., using Selenium , JUnit , TestNG , Cucumber , Appium , or similar tools).
Test Case Design & Automation: Proven ability to design automated test plans and execute test cases for Functional, Regression, Integration , and Performance testing.
API/Web Service Testing: Proficiency in automating web service testing using tools like SOAP UI , Postman , or custom automation scripts.
Database Testing: Solid understanding of relational databases and the ability to automate SQL queries for backend data validation and testing.
Agile & CI/CD: Experience with Agile methodologies and integration of test automation in CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
Bug Tracking & Project Management: Familiarity with JIRA for managing defects, test case execution, and project tracking throughout the SDLC.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues efficiently using strong debugging techniques and an analytical approach.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving & Detail-Oriented: Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of identifying root causes of issues and proposing effective solutions.

Experience:

Experience in Test Automation: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automated testing and development of automation frameworks.

Experience in Manual Testing: Solid experience in manual testing for functional, integration, and performance testing, with the ability to transition to automation.

Certifications: ISTQB Certification or similar QA certifications are a plus.
