Job Title : Lead Cloud and Core Replica Lab
The Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and verification of virtualized and cloud-native telecom applications within a lab environment. The role involves managing cloud infrastructure, deploying NFVI solutions, and driving automation across the lifecycle of cloud services. Leading a team to ensure high availability and performance, the position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and partners to support core network functions and VNF/CNF testing. Expertise in cloud technologies, network architecture, and system management is critical for driving innovation and ensuring seamless service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Design, Verification & Implementation: Oversee the design, verification, and implementation of virtualized and cloud-native telecom applications within the network, including the preparation and verification of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for Core Network functions and application deployment.
- Infrastructure & Lab Management: Build and manage lab hardware infrastructure with necessary capacity and ensure timely upgrades to the latest versions. This includes configuration and deployment of routers and switches in the lab and through SDN where needed. Responsible for understanding and preparing Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for lab infrastructure expansion.
- Cloud Platform Deployment & Lifecycle Management: Deploy and manage OpenStack and OpenShift container platforms for VNF/CNF testing in lab environments. Drive the end-to-end automation of NFVI and cloud-native solutions, including zero-touch provisioning of server hardware, OS, platforms, applications, and services, as well as their lifecycle management
- Service Delivery & Recovery Management: Lead a team responsible for service delivery, cloud recovery, and ensuring that all cloud uptime and availability SLAs are met.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system integrity and availability of all hardware, infrastructure resources, and application logs. Perform regular preventative maintenance, system backups, recovery, and troubleshoot hardware/software failures with support from OEM partners. Apply necessary software upgrades and ensure network stability.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document network configurations, designs, topologies, processes, and configurations for cloud deployments and lab setups. Regularly track, report, and update the status of projects, providing necessary technical and system documentation in a timely manner.
- Automation & Troubleshooting: Use MANO framework and Ansible playbooks for automated multi-site deployments. Utilize tools such as Wireshark and port mirroring for troubleshooting and trace analysis. Support VNF validation across different cloud environments, especially with Cisco/Nokia Fabric and SDN networks.
- POC & Standards Contribution: Work with partners to perform proof of concepts and contribute to standardization forums and workgroups related to Cloud & Automation technologies. Ensure ongoing collaboration with technical and project teams to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.
Skills Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of 4G and 5G network architecture, ecosystem, and call flows, with a deep understanding of virtualization and cloud-native technologies as they apply to telco networks.
- Understanding of deploying and managing horizontal cloud solutions with Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) across multiple NFVI layers. Experience with COTS hardware from vendors like HPE and Dell, as well as SDN/fabric technologies from Nokia and Cisco.
- Understanding of installation, configuration, and deployment of network routers and switches primarily from Cisco and Nokia. Familiarity with solutions on major public cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Experience in automating cloud-native service delivery using CI/CD and orchestration tools.
- Good understanding of Management and Orchestration (MANO) frameworks, Network Management, OSS/BSS systems, and TM Forum standards for managing and optimizing network services.
- Broad experience across data center disciplines, including:
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Operating systems (Linux, Windows)
- Storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage)
- Networking components (routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls)
- Data protection, backup, and business continuity practices.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to lead architecture and design discussions with internal stakeholders and external partners. Capable of providing clear technical documentation and project updates to diverse audiences.
Experience & Qualifications: 8-10 years of relevant experience in core network and cloud infrastructure management. Preference will be given to candidates with certifications in cloud technologies ( Red Hat, AWS, Azure).
