Job Description

As a Manual QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of our software products

You will work in Agile squads, closely collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate product features and functionality

Your strong sense of ownership and deep curiosity will help you proactively identify potential risks, explore edge cases, and contribute to high-quality deliverables

This role is ideal for someone with 4-5 years of experience in manual testing who thrives in Agile environments and is conversant with modern software development practices

What youll be doing:

Testing and Quality Assurance

Design, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases

Perform a wide range of testing activities, including functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing

Validate APIs and back-end functionality using tools like Postman or similar

Identify, document, and manage defects using modern defect-tracking tools

Agile Collaboration

Work as an integral member of Agile squads, participating in all ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Collaborate with developers, product owners, and designers to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure robust test coverage

Provide timely feedback on product readiness and quality

Process Optimization and Modern Practices

Ensure alignment with modern development practices such as CI/CD, test-driven development (TDD), and version control systems

Contribute to the evolution of QA processes, ensuring they remain efficient and effective in an Agile setup

Stay up-to-date with advancements in QA methodologies and tools to bring innovative ideas to the team

Ownership and Accountability

Take full responsibility for the quality of the features or products you test, ensuring they meet high standards before release

Demonstrate a proactive and curious approach to identifying risks, edge cases, and potential improvements

What we are looking for: Must-Have Skills

4-5 years of hands-on experience in manual testing within Agile environments

Strong expertise in creating, executing, and maintaining detailed test cases and plans

Familiarity with modern defect management tools (eg, Jira) and test management systems (eg, TestRail)

Understanding of API testing with tools like Postman

Exposure to modern software development practices, including CI/CD and Agile frameworks

Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of SQL for database validation

Basic understanding of automation principles or experience working alongside automation teams

Familiarity with performance testing tools and techniques

Behavioral Attributes

High sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables

A deep curiosity to explore, question, and improve products and processes

Ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, Agile environments

Minimum education

Bachelors degree in science, Engineering, or related field
