About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead - Backend to join our growing engineering team.
You will lead a team of backend developers in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable server-side logic and APIs for our applications.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building high-quality software.
Responsibilities :
- Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and guide a team of backend developers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.
- Technical Guidance : Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, helping them to solve complex problems and make sound architectural decisions.
- Champion best practices and coding standards.
- Project Planning & Execution : Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to plan and execute backend development projects. Estimate effort, track progress, and ensure timely delivery.
- Architecture & Design : Contribute to the design and architecture of backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Development : Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in the chosen backend technologies. Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality.
- Testing : Promote and implement testing best practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
- Deployment & Maintenance : Oversee the deployment and maintenance of backend systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving : Lead the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for improvement in backend processes and technologies. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices.
- Communication : Communicate effectively with the team, stakeholders, and management.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in backend development.
- 2+ years of experience in a team lead or similar leadership role.
Technical Skills (Mandatory - adapt to your tech stack) :
- Programming Languages: Proficient in at least one backend programming language (e. , Java, Python, Node. js, Go, C#).
- Frameworks : Experience with relevant backend frameworks (e. , Spring, Django, Express.js, .NET Core).
- Databases : Strong understanding of relational databases (e., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases (e., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- API Development : Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Cloud Platforms : Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Version Control : Proficient in using Git for version control.
- Testing : Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies.
Technical Skills (Added Advantage) :
- Containerization : Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- CI/CD : Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.
- Microservices Architecture : Understanding of microservices architecture and experience building microservices.
- Message Queues : Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Caching : Experience with caching technologies like Redis or Memcached.
- Performance Optimization : Experience in optimizing backend application performance.
